How to Get There: Local Transport Options
🚆 By Train (Renfe Cercanías)
The coastal Cercanías train network does not extend into the Cádiz province. The closest major train station is in San Roque/La Línea, but connecting from Malaga requires taking long-distance AVE/Avant trains to Antequera or Ronda, followed by regional connections—a highly inefficient route for airport arrivals.
🚌 By Intercity Bus (Avanza / ALSA)
The ALSA bus service operates routes from Malaga to La Línea de la Concepción or Algeciras, which stop near Sotogrande (Guadiaro or San Roque). From these stops, a local taxi is required to enter the secured Valderrama estate.
Public transport to the extreme western edge of the Costa del Sol (Sotogrande) is slow and complex. If you are traveling as a group with bulky golf clubs and luggage, dragging gear on buses is highly impractical. The 105km journey by private transfer is the only efficient way to arrive.
